It's always good to grab players that give you the power/speed combination on draft day.  Below are lists of players broken down into power/speed tiers based on their 2010 Projection (FB365 Projections used).  It's a useful tool to take along on draft day for easy reference to multi category options available at all points of the draft.

Head Swap: Fielder/Shields

Written by Charlie Saponara on .

Inspired by the Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon, here is FB365's inaugural head swap.  This not only highlights my mediocre photoshop skills, but two players that might have an impact on fantasy teams in 2010.

Mailbag: Gamel or Desmond?

Written by Charlie Saponara on .

Time for another installment of the FB365 mailbag.  This one focusing on some almost ready prospects and their potential impact in 2010.

Scott J. writes:

I'm in a 12 team 5x5 roto league and we can keep and stash two minor league players from our roster last season.  I've got Madison Bumgarner locked in as my first pick as he could make the rotation out of ST, but I need to chose between Mat Gamel and Ian Desmond as my second.  Who do you think will get the most playing time or produce better if they get the call-up?

Thanks.

Poll: Would you take Longoria over Fielder and Teixeira?

Written by Charlie Saponara on .

An interesting situation popped up as I was finishing my dollar value projections last night.  When I sorted my top 300 player rankings by dollar value, Evan Longoria came up as the eighth most valuebale player on the list.  His name comes after Matt Kemp and before the first base trio of Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder and Mark Teixeira.  That was somewhat surprising as both Fielder and Teixeira have routinely been drafted ahead of Longoria in mock drafts.

Bedard's Value in H2H

Written by Mark Schruender on .

First there was Mark Prior and Kerry Wood. Every year we would refer back to that one season when both of them were awesome and hope that they could stay healthy and replicate. Then there was Ben Sheets and Rich Harden. Both pitchers would show no hitter potential and two hours to five days later they were heading to the disabled list. Now Erik Bedard joins the most annoying group in fantasy baseball.

Joe Mauer Could Be a Bust…If You Make Him a Bust

Written by Charlie Saponara on .

As great a hitter Joe Mauer is and as great as his 2009 season was, he may just be one of the most over-drafted players in fantasy baseball this season.  His premium position gives his value a boost and he is without question one of the best pure hitters in the game, but keep in mind that he has never had a season like 2009 before and he will be moving into a new outdoor stadium that will affect hitters in one way or another.  Will these factors make Joe Mauer a bust?  Only if you let them.

Can Ryan Zimmerman hit 30+ homeruns again?

Written by Charlie Saponara on .

Finally, Ryan Zimmerman's breakout season arrived.  After years of putting up good, not great numbers and being touted as one of the best young third basemen in the game, Zimmerman stayed healthy and found the 30-plus home run power stroke that had eluded him over three Major League seasons.  With a number of 25-plus home run hitting third basemen competing for his spot in fantasy rankings, the big question will be: Can he repeat the 30 home run feat?  Or will 2009 go down as his career year?
