Final 2011 Starting Pitcher Rankings
These rankings are probably the most difficult to come up with. A lot of my dollar values are based on counting stats, so pitchers like Jordan Zimmerman, who is going to be on an innings limit, are affected. The dollar values may seem low outside of the top ten, but that is a reflection of how deep the starting pitcher pool is and how you are much more likely to find a replacement level player at this position than just about any other. Also, you may notice the exclusion of certain pitchers who excelled in 2010 (C.J. Wilson, Carl Pavano and Fausto Carmona, for example). You are seeing this right, as I expect regression in their numbers toward or below the replacement level. I will be doing a separate post about these types of pitchers -- as well as possible $1 bargains -- later in the week.
